Rachel Whiteread’s first London studio was opposite to Lesney, which produced the “Matchbox” cars until the 1970s. The Ex Libris edition helps to see the work of this sculptor in a new light, who for years has been concerned with casting and moulding and with the concept of the model. The edition includes coloured screen prints and a pewter concrete mixer.

Rachel Whiteread (*1963 in London, lives in London) was the first woman to win the Turner Prize in 1993. Solo exhibitions of her works have been shown at the 21er Haus in Vienna (2019), the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. (2018), Tate Britain in London (2017), Gagosian Gallery in London (2013 and 2005), Tate Britain in London (2010 and 2005), Hammer Museum in Los Angeles (2010), Gagosian Gallery in Los Angeles (2008), Luhring Augustine in New York (2006), Kunsthaus Bregenz (2005) and Museu de Arte Moderna in Rio de Janeiro (2004), amongst others.
