The Kölnischer Kunstverein, the SculptureCenter (New York), and Mousse Publishing (Milan) are pleased to announce the publication of the book Sam Anderson. The publication is the first monograph on the American artist, in the context of which her work is extensively discussed on the basis of her recent solo exhibitions in America and Germany. While Ruba Katrib’s essay focuses on the show The Park, which opened in May 2017 at the SculptureCenter in New York and naturally presents Anderson’s latest works, Moritz Wesseler’s essay is especially focused on the artist’s older works. These were the central objects of the Big Bird presentation, which was on view at the Kölnischer Kunstverein from July of the same year. Finally, Lia Gangitano supplements the publication with an interview with Anderson in which important background information on the etiology of the work as well as the conception of the exhibitions is provided.
The publication Sam Anderson was generously supported by the Kunststiftung Nordrhein-Westfalen, the Leinemann Foundation for Education and Art, Chapter NY, Tanya Leighton Gallery, and Mother’s Tankstation Limited.
